All At Once

Performed at the Wits Theatre by Thalia Laric, Manuela Lucia Tessi and Kristina Johnstone, with live music by Coila-Leah Enderstein and lighting by Jade Manicom.

All At Once is a study of time using the concept of improvised unison. How can four performers share the same thinking place while composing sound and movement in a performance? Through an advanced use of improvisation technique, sound and movement material is developed through an attention to spatial dynamics, somatic impulse, kinesthetic empathy and the chemistry between performers. The work conjures time as it asks the performers to be attentive to the present and near past as they try to predict the future. Through this attention to the tracking of time, a particular quality of presence is exposed.
